Think of this as your choose-your-own spring getaway. Whether you’re drawn to classic a wine country escape in Niagara-on-the-Lake, relaxed patios and local finds in the Benchlands, or discovering Niagara’s South Coast’s quietly growing and epically delicious food scene, there’s no shortage of ways to ease into the season.

Start your time in Niagara-on-the-Lake at Inniskillin Wines, one of the region’s oldest wineries, where a deep sense of place comes through in every glass. Their approach blends tradition with careful craftsmanship, resulting in wines that truly reflect Niagara’s terroir.
If the weather’s on your side, settle in and enjoy some patio time at the winery. It’s an ideal spot to ease into the day with a glass of wine and something to snack on. A local cheese board comes layered with house-made pickled vegetables, Pinot Grigio pepper jam and Riesling apple butter — each bite offering something a little different for everyone to enjoy. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, the warm sticky toffee pudding with Icewine caramel or a blueberry scone with Icewine butter makes for an epic treat!

Next, make your way into downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake for a wander. The streets are lined with local boutiques that are easy to pop in and out of, whether you’re browsing or just taking it all in. When you’re ready for a quick bite, follow the scent of warm dough to Fritter’s on the Lake, it’s a stop that’s hard to skip once you’re nearby.
While you’re in town, consider catching a performance at the Shaw Festival, which has just kicked off its 2026 season. It’s a great way to add something a little different to your visit, whether you’re a theatre lover or simply looking to round out the day with a memorable experience.

As the day winds down, settle in for a delicious meal at Terroir Restaurant & Wine Bar, located at Strewn Winery and proudly Feast On® certified. It’s an easy, welcoming place to relax over a glass of wine while enjoying a thoughtfully crafted menu that highlights seasonal, Ontario-grown ingredients.
Dishes like the wild mushroom tagliatelle alfredo or the grilled beef tenderloin served with oven-roasted brussel sprouts, potato purée and lemon butter jus offer just a glimpse of what’s on offer. The menu shifts with the seasons, and the restaurant also hosts special dinners throughout the year, making it worth keeping an eye on when planning your visit.
Niagara Benchlands (Town of Lincoln): Slow Mornings and Local Discoveries

If your spring plans lean toward quiet roads and unhurried stops, the Niagara Benchlands offer a slower pace.

Start your morning at the newly opened Brick and Beam Coffee, located in downtown Beamsville. Enjoy delicious handcrafted coffee along with freshly made pastries to help set the tone for a delicious day in wine country. For a heartier start to the day, consider a visit to Révalée Brunch Café, where scratch-made dishes are prepared with thoughtful, quality ingredients. With a menu that includes plenty of vegan-friendly options, it’s an easy choice when you’re looking for something satisfying to ease into your morning.
We suggest making your way into Jordan Village for a relaxed wander. Boutique shops line the streets, offering plenty of reasons to pop in and browse. While you’re there, step into the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre and explore Through the Grapevine: Winemaking in Niagara. Running until October 2026, the exhibit offers a deeper look into the region’s winemaking story — a fitting stop while you’re out tasting your way through the region!

Think danishes layered with rhubarb jam, lavender diplomat cream, and poached local rhubarb. If you’re stopping for lunch, the menu leans fresh and satisfying, with seasonally rotating dishes like a pulled pork sandwich or a beet and barley salad made with local greens, herbs and a bright sherry vinaigrette.

Inside, you’ll find a curated selection of beautifully crafted cheeses alongside local goods — perfect for picking up something to snack on later or bring home as a taste of the region.

From there, make your way to Westcott Vineyards another Feast On® certified gem to wind down the day. Their covered outdoor patio is the perfect place to settle in with a glass of wine and a few casual bites from the winery’s patio kitchen, all while taking in the vineyard views as the day begins to slow. It’s the kind of spot that invites you to linger just a little longer and clink your glasses clinking to a day well spent.
