The Ultimate Foodie Crawl Through The Food District in Mississauga

Mississauga’s food scene is one of the most exciting and diverse in Ontario, shaped by the many cultures and communities that call the city home. Across the city, you’ll discover flavours from around the world, from comforting noodle bowls and handcrafted pastries to globally inspired street food and modern fusion concepts.

One of the best ways to experience and taste your way through the city is by visiting The Food District at Square One, the ultimate destination for discovering the flavours, creativity and energy that define Mississauga’s culinary scene!

Located inside Square One Shopping Centre, The Food District is a modern food hall and marketplace that brings together a curated mix of local vendors, globally inspired eateries, artisanal products, and trend-forward treats all under one roof. More than just a place to grab a meal, it’s an immersive culinary destination where visitors can snack, sip, shop, and explore a wide range of flavours in one vibrant space.

Whether you’re stopping in between shopping breaks or planning an entire foodie-focused day trip, The Food District makes it easy to taste your way through Mississauga’s dynamic food culture all in one visit.

We spent the day exploring some must-try spots throughout The Food District, and let’s just say: arrive hungry!

Start Your Morning at Egg Club

Everyone loves a good breakfast sandwich, and Egg Club takes the classic egg sandwich to the next level. Known for their fluffy Japanese milk bread sandwiches, Egg Club serves up savoury egg sandwiches loaded with creative toppings that make your breakfast bite elevated.

For a hearty start to the day, we opted to try the fan-favourite Meat Lovers sandwich (a must-try!), stacked with smoked sausage patty, thick-cut bacon, chipotle mayo and Egg Club sauce. Looking for something a little more indulgent? The Chipotle Lobster sandwich combines lobster, corn, lettuce, chipotle sauce and Egg Club sauce for a rich and flavourful bite that feels extra special.

Pair it with a coffee and you’re off to the races before diving into the rest of your foodie crawl through The Food District.

Refuel with Something Sweet at Refuel Juicery

To make the most of your foodie crawl, start the day slow and pace yourself — there are plenty of delicious stops ahead you won’t want to miss.

Next, make your way to Refuel Juicery for a refreshing mid-morning pick-me-up.

Known for their freshly pressed juices and vibrant smoothies, Refuel Juicery is the perfect stop to balance out a day filled with indulgent foodie finds. Here, the fresh fruits and vegetables are chopped and blended right in front of you, so you know every sip is packed with fresh ingredients and flavour.

We tried the Green Aid smoothie, a fresh blend of pineapple, kale, apple, and ginger that balanced fruity sweetness with a subtle earthy kick. For something a little more tropical, the Mango Tango combined mango, orange and banana into a smooth, refreshing drink that made for an easy mid-morning sip.

While their smoothies and juices are reason enough to stop by, there was one sweet treat we couldn’t resist trying: the Dubai chocolate strawberries. Fresh-cut strawberries served in a cup, topped with rich melted chocolate and crushed pistachios, created the perfect indulgent mid-morning snack. It wasn’t something we expected to discover during our foodie crawl, which made it all the more fun and delicious!

Snack and Share at Bao Mama

No foodie crawl is complete without a few shareable bites, and Bao Mama is the perfect place to settle in and try a little bit of everything. Known for its Filipino-inspired street food and flavour-packed bao buns, this spot brings bold flavours and fun energy to The Food District.

If the menu feels impossible to narrow down, we highly recommend ordering the bao try-pack so you can sample a few of the restaurant’s favourites in one go.

We started with the O.G.C. (Original Crispy Chicken), filled with crispy breaded chicken, hoisin aioli, Asian slaw, sriracha mayo, and green onions for the perfect mix of sweet, savoury, and spicy flavours. The PNoy Boy featured tender Filipino BBQ pork layered with black garlic aioli, slaw, crispy onion, and tangy BBQ sauce, while the Triple B combined braised beef brisket asado with savoury sauce, crunchy toppings, and soft handmade bao for a rich and comforting bite.

And of course, no visit to Bao Mama is complete without an order of their famous salty and sweet Sinigang fries.

Grab a table, share a few dishes, and enjoy one of the most fun and flavourful stops in The Food District before continuing your foodie adventure.

Take a Break & Choose Your Own Adventure

One of the best parts about visiting The Food District is that there’s no wrong way to spend the day.

Maybe you continue your foodie crawl immediately, or maybe this is the perfect time to explore Square One for a little retail therapy between bites. Browse fashion boutiques, beauty brands, home stores, and lifestyle shops while letting your next craving decide where you head next.

If you’re looking to explore even more of Mississauga, take a short walk or drive over to Celebration Square and the Art Gallery of Mississauga. The area regularly hosts festivals, public events, seasonal activations, and community programming, making it worth checking what’s happening before your visit. It’s an easy way to turn your foodie outing into a full-day city adventure.

Once you’ve shopped, explored, and walked off round one of snacks, it’s time for round two.

Fresh Pasta on the Go at Dal Moro’s Pasta

Once you’ve explored a little more of Square One, make your way back to The Food District and head straight to Dal Moro’s Pasta for a comforting bowl of freshly made pasta.

Originally founded in Venice, Italy, Dal Moro’s is known for serving fresh, made-to-order pasta in convenient grab-and-go containers, making it an easy and satisfying stop during a foodie crawl. Watching the pasta being prepared fresh right in front of you adds to the experience and makes every bowl feel a little extra special.

We opted for the fusilli, a larger twist on the classic pasta shape that perfectly held onto every bit of sauce. To sample a couple different flavours, we tried both the Pesto and the Mamma Rosa sauces. The pesto delivered fresh basil flavour balanced with pine nuts, parmesan, garlic and olive oil, while the Mamma Rosa combined rich tomato sauce with creamy rosé sauce for a comforting and classic pasta pairing.

It’s a satisfying midday stop that brings a little comfort to your crawl while giving you a chance to enjoy fresh pasta without having to leave the city.

Midday Refresh at TAO Tea

By now, you’ve enjoyed your fair share of savoury flavours, making TAO Tea Leaf the perfect spot for a refreshing palate cleanser before winding down the day.

Known for its handcrafted teas, specialty drinks, and creative seasonal offerings, TAO Tea Leaf offers plenty of options whether you’re looking for something creamy, fruity, or ice-cold. We stopped by to sample two refreshing drinks that felt especially fitting for a day spent exploring The Food District.

First up was the seasonal Strawberry Matcha Iced Latte, which balanced earthy matcha with sweet strawberry flavours for a drink that was both refreshing and visually stunning. We also tried the Sparkling Salted Lime Iced Tea with lychee-flavoured boba, a crisp and bubbly drink that delivered bright citrus notes with a subtle salty finish. The fruity lychee boba added a fun burst of flavour to every sip.

Cold, refreshing, and a little unexpected, both drinks offered a welcome reset before diving back into the next stop on our foodie adventure.

End the Day at Mogouyan Hand Pulled Noodles

Wrap up your foodie crawl with a visit to Mogouyan Hand Pulled Noodles, where dinner comes with a side of theatre.

Before you even take your seat, you’re greeted by the sight of skilled noodle makers stretching, pulling, and shaping fresh noodles by hand right in front of you. Watching the process unfold adds an interactive element to the experience and gives you an appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into every bowl.

Mogouyan is the kind of place that invites you to slow down and share a meal with friends and loved ones. We started with a few appetizers, including the vegetable spring rolls served with a wasabi-flavoured sesame dipping sauce and the beef skewers, which made the perfect shareable bites while deciding on our mains.

From there, we dug into two of the restaurant’s signature noodle dishes. The Braised Beef Noodles featured tender beef in a rich, flavourful broth paired with freshly hand-pulled noodles that were satisfyingly chewy and comforting. For something with a little more kick, the Dan Dan Noodles delivered bold flavours and just the right amount of spice, making them an excellent contrast to the hearty beef bowl.

To round out the meal, we sipped on the Signature Mango Green Tea, a refreshing and fruity drink that paired beautifully with the savoury dishes.

With fresh noodles made before your eyes, generous portions designed for sharing, and comforting flavours that leave you wanting one more bite, Mogouyan Hand Pulled Noodles is the perfect final stop after a day spent eating your way through The Food District.
