Savour the Field: Au cœur du champ is a multi-day, open farm door event celebrating local food and farming, inviting visitors to explore the rural charm and rich culinary traditions of the region.
From August 22 to 23, take a self-guided tour through parts of South Eastern Ontario, including the vibrant communities of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG) Counties, Prescott-Russell, Alfred and Plantagenet. During these open door farm days, you’ll meet the farmers, chefs and makers behind the region’s most exciting local flavours. From bustling berry farms and wood-fired pizza spots to regenerative homesteads and creative farm kitchens, Savour the Field celebrates the deep connection to land, culture and community.
The weekend wraps up with a separate ticketed event “Brunch at Springfield Farm” on Sunday, August 24: a stunning Indigenous farm-to-table brunch hosted at Springfield Farm Organics in Apple Hill. This soulful outdoor gathering features a seasonal meal that incorporates ingredients like moose and cornbread, refreshments, and the hospitality of Chef Jonathan Lazore, a Mohawk Chef from Akwesasne.
Savour the Field kicks off with a self-guided tour through the picturesque regions of Prescott-Russell, Alfred & Plantagenet, and Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SDG) Counties. Over 30 farms, restaurants, markets, breweries, and local producers open their doors, giving you the chance to explore at your own pace and meet the people behind your favourite local products. From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., expect to discover everything from pick-your-own produce, farm tours, tastings, and workshops to wood-fired pizza, baked goods, floral workshops, and more. This family-friendly and interactive event promises something for everyone!

Sunday, August 24: Indigenous Brunch at Springfield Farm Organics
The weekend of Savour the Field culminates with a signature ticketed experience, an open-air Indigenous farm-to-table brunch hosted at Springfield Farm Organics in Apple Hill. This special event invites guests to enjoy a soulful and immersive meal rooted in tradition, community, and the land. Located at 18709 County Road 25, Springfield Farm will offer two brunch seatings, at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Tickets are required and can be reserved in advance. Reserve your tickets here.
The brunch takes place on a certified organic farm run by Eleanor and Finbarr, known for their deep hospitality and commitment to sustainable agriculture. Guests will dine outdoors, surrounded by nature and the warmth of community.The menu features a seasonal Indigenous meal featuring moose and cornbread, paired with traditional Indigenous refreshments that honour the ingredients and foodways of the land.Adding to the ambiance, live music by local artist Alanna Sterling will fill the air, and children’s activities will be available on-site, making it a welcoming experience for families.
The meal is crafted by Chef Jonathan Lazore, a Mohawk Chef from Akwesasne, known as “Land Where the Partridge Drums.” Inspired by the teachings of his mother and grandmother, and by the natural abundance of the St. Lawrence River, Chef Lazore brings both ancestral knowledge and a bold BBQ flair to every dish he prepares.
