Ricky+Olivia bring a taste of Niagara and Toronto to Stratford

Call it luck or fate, our favourite chef duo has landed in Stratford for a six-week takeover of the Red Rabbit.

Home to the Stratford Chef School, it’s no secret that the culinary scene in this charming town is already punching above its weight. With the likes of Lovage, Braai House, Café Bouffon, and The Relic Lobby Bar, a pop-up from Ricky+Olivia feels just about perfect.

On until April 30, 2023, pop-up hours are Thursday – Monday 5pm – 10pm for dinner, and Saturday + Sunday 10am – 3pm for brunch/lunch.


The Menu

As long-time Feast On® ambassadors, Chefs Olivia Simpson and Ricky Casipe have curated a menu that makes our hearts (and taste buds) sing – Ontario pork, beef, and trout, Niagara wines and spirits, Toronto brews, Norfolk County veg… and with dishes just slightly bigger than tapas – this meant-for-sharing menu is a true taste of Ontario.

With too many can’t-miss menu items, we recommend going with a group to make sure you get to try a bit of everything. True to their jovial and nostalgic style, you’ll find some fantastic takes on classic favourites… even the Caesar Salad has a playful spin with its hickory stick crumble!

A stand-out dish is the PB+J Chicken Liver Mousse, bringing together salty, sweet, stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth goodness with beet tahini, wildflower honey, and pinot noir gummy bears. Not a chicken liver fan? Maybe you’ll just devour the bundt cakes but this dish is known to convert the doubters.

Order the Big Mac Steak Tartare and scoop up hand-cut beef and oozy egg yolk, or the Radish + Turnip, charred to perfection for your fix of seasonal veg. Finish your meal with the delectable “Dunk-a-Mousse” – a play on a childhood favourite Dunkaroos.

Meet the Maker Dinner Series

April brings a series of three “meet the maker” guided dinner experiences at the Red Rabbit, an intimate opportunity to meet the makers behind some amazing wines and spirits from the Niagara region. Seating is limited, so definitely book in advance to secure your spot.

Sunday, April 16 – Dillon’s Distillery
The evening will begin with an interactive cocktail station led by Whitney Rorison, followed by a four course dinner with cocktail pairings!

Sunday, April 23 – Kelly Mason, of Mason Vineyards
Kelly will be hosting guided wine tastings throughout the day on Sunday and a winemakers dinner in the evening! The winemakers dinner will include 4 courses with wine pairings and a guided experience by Kelly Mason and the Ricky+Olivia team.

Sunday, April 30 – Westcott Vineyards
Ricky+Olivia are ending their last dinner service with a bang! Westcott Vineyards will be hosting guided wine tastings throughout the day, followed by the winemaker event in the evening.
