Windsor Essex releases new guide to help you plan your summer staycations!

Windsor, ON - Today, to mark Tourism Month in Windsor Essex, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island launched their 2021/2022 Official Visitor Guide in preparation for businesses planning to reopen as Step 1 of the Province’s Roadmap to Reopen. Though service offerings are currently limited at most locations in the region, most businesses are preparing to welcome visitors into their venues when it is safe to do so. Visitors like you!

“Though we know doors aren’t open yet, the tourism industry is preparing to open, and our Official Visitor Guide is one of the top advertising pieces we use to promote our region. We have adapted our guide to be a Staycation guide, and to be the ultimate resources for locals to use to explore their own backyard this summer. The guide highlights the most relevant information about the region and things to do, all while keeping their safety paramount” said Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex. “The tourism industry was hit first and hit hardest, and we know it is the industry that will take the longest to recover, and we hope locals will use this guide as an asset to explore when it is safe to do so.”

Regularly branded as the Official Visitor Guide, this year’s guide will be known at the Staycation in Windsor Essex Guide, and will be a great asset to locals as well as visiting friends and family as they plan to explore the great attractions and businesses in our region.

The tone for the guide is set on the cover, featuring a lone kayaker paddling their way through Peche Island, harkening to outdoor adventure as the prominent theme throughout the guide. Research shows that those planning travel this year will be looking for remote locations, outdoor attractions, and socially distanced experiences. The content featured in this year’s guide will take readers through our districts, and uses high-impact imagery to sell the story of the region, all while being attentive to current industry safety protocols and restrictions.

Flipping through this unique guide will ensure you keep Windsor Essex top of mind when you plan travel in the future. Want a copy of your very own? You can request a print copy at visitwindsoressex.com
