Bison du Nord began in 1972, when founder Pierre Bélanger set out to transform rugged Northern Ontario farmland into a thriving bison operation—an ambitious idea at the time. Starting with just a few animals, the farm has grown into a herd of over 350 pasture-raised bison, earning recognition as one of the oldest and largest bison farms in Eastern Canada. Today, the Bélanger family continues that legacy with a strong commitment to sustainability, producing 100% grassfed and grass-finished bison while maintaining Animal Welfare Approved and Certified Grassfed by AGW standards.
