Our perfect foodie road trip through Sarnia-Lambton starts along the backroads. We’d make our way to Twin Pines Orchards & Cider House in Thedford for a wander through the orchard and a taste of what they’re pouring. While you’re in the neighbourhood, pop into Shale Ridge Estate Winery & Cidery for a flight and some seriously good countryside views.
Next, head for the lake! No trip to Ontario’s Blue Coast is complete without getting a taste of the Great Lakes. Stop at Purdy Fisheries in Point Edward for locally caught fish before taking a stroll under the Blue Water Bridge — bonus points if there are fries involved.
Thirsty? Sarnia-Lambton has you covered. Refined Fool Brewing Co. and Imperial City Brew House are both worth a stop in Sarnia, while Stonepicker Brewing Company serves up farm-brewed beer in the countryside. Over in Petrolia, Black Gold Brewery pays homage to the town’s oil heritage one pint at a time.
We’d save some room for the farm stands, bakeries and little roadside gems you’ll inevitably spot along the way, too.
And when Lake Huron puts on one of its famous sunsets? Find yourself a patio, order something local and settle in. Around here, dinner with a view is practically mandatory.
