The adventure begins with real beekeeping gear. Guests are provided with a protective bee suit and veil before heading out to the farm’s apiary. Once everyone is suited up and looking delightfully official, ecological beekeepers Paul and Indy of Slurps Terps Apiary lead the group into the remarkable world of the honey bee.
They are not simply there to point at a hive and deliver a memorized speech. Their enthusiasm for ecological beekeeping brings the experience to life as they explain how bees communicate, forage, build honeycomb and work together to protect their home.
You may arrive knowing that bees make honey. You will leave wondering why nobody told you they were tiny, winged engineering geniuses.

Of course, no visit to a working apiary would be complete without tasting the results.
Guests have the opportunity to sample raw honey straight from the comb. It is fresh, fragrant and connected directly to the landscape surrounding the farm.
